Destiny 2 Forsaken
Publisher: Activision – Developer: Bungie, High Moon Studios – Release:

You can get a High-Performance PC from Origin Today! I Recommend Amazon for Games.

My Thoughts: 100+ hours in Destiny 2 Forsaken is the absolute best expansion that Bungie has ever produced.
The Dreaming City is magnificent with its towering spires and center citadel evoking a tolkien-esque feeling of Middle Earth.
The Awoken are Destiny’s Elves and I am in love with them and their Kingdoms.

Forsaken Baron: Hiraks, the Mindbender Boss

Cinematic Boss Fight of Hiraks, the Mindbender in Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion. Clearly one of the cooler looking bosses and creatures in all of Destiny.

Don’t forget: Like, Subscribe (ring the bell) and let me know your thoughts on the design of Hiraks and his boss fight.

Short Boss Guide:

Sadly there isn’t a lot to say about the Mindbender. Before you enter his lair you will run into him outside his throne ascendant world. You will have to take out a few groups of adds and some purple totems floating in the air to remove the shield around the enemies here.

I have to say other than the environment where you fight Hiraks (the ascendant realm is always cool) I don’t find this fight particularly challenging or novel. It is just basic hide behind cover kill add, fight boss with energy weapon, repeat.

The fight is fine but only just. There is simply nothing new here. We have already fought bosses with similar mechanics throughout our entire time playing Destiny.

Nothing special is here for what is arguably one of the best designed boss characters in Destiny.

Hiraks has pretty awesome lore. Considering he has his own throne world within the ascendant plane. He was once a simple fallen Dreg but his fall into hive territory led to him studying them and he found out how he could control Hive making him the Mindbender. Bending hive minds to his will.

Like Eris Morn his time living with Hive physically changed him into what you will fight today. Hiraks is the largest scorn Baron however such an appearance is only possible within his throne world. He is also the only fallen to ever gain any control and power over the ascendant realm.

In the fight he wields a scorn boomer likely modified from Hive boomers considering his utter obsession with them. It has far greater range however and much quicker firing due to a faster cyclic rate.

Close up he will stomp you like most bosses in Destiny. So avoid too much direct melee range combat with him.

Throughout the fight he will summon totems to protect his minions including a powerful Hive Ogre once his health gets low. He will also run through his portals and appear at another side of his arena attempting to flank you. He however is very slow and as I said before uninspired. You should be able to defeat him with no trouble at all.

Just be careful of that Ogre Guardian!

Lore: “Never heard of the Mindbender? Surprise. That’s just how he likes it.”
—Cayde-6

Hiraks, the Mindbender, is a Baron of the Scorn, and an Ascendant Eliksni. A year after the events of the Red War, Uldren Sov freed him along with seven other Scorn Barons, and worked together to orchestrate a massive breakout from the Prison of Elders. After the murder of Cayde-6 at Uldren’s hands, Hiraks fled the scene alongside the prince and his fellow barons to the Tangled Shore. He has the ability to summon Hive combatants and wields a Knight’s Boomer in battle. He reigns over a throne world, which is identified only as “Ascendant Plane”
