Forsaken Baron: Araskes, the Trickster Boss
Destiny bosses in cinematic fashion!
Don’t Forget: Like, Subscribe (ring the bell) Are you having trouble with the Trickster goddess? She can be frustrating due to the arena being pretty small and full of her traps.
Araskes, is a pretty fun boss fight. You spend most of your time in this mission chasing her through booby trapped rooms after solving her “exotic” engram riddle. Everything from ammo to planetary resources can be laced with her traps. So be careful out there Guardians!
There is an area about half way through on the way to her lair where a door is blocked by a force-field. You will need to make your way there in about 15 seconds while carrying an explosive exotic engram. The room here is absolutely littered with adds so you can clear them out first if you would like a simpler run to the door.
I opted to simply skip the room by quickly running with the exotic engram right away and throwing it at the door but to each their own.
Once you reach Araskes’ Lair Diaviks Mine be very careful. The room is strewn through with Destiny 2 Forsaken’s version of bouncing betty bombs. These were something you first encountered in the “House of Wolves” expansion for Destiny year one and they have been a stable of Fallen fights in Destiny 2.
However where they normally would explode and create an energy web or net to slow you down and prevent jumping abilities here they are placed close enough together to chain detonate and just a few will end your life.
The arena where you fight the Trickster is also very small and she will summon adds all throughout. Everything from Wraiths to Skreeb so be on the look out with enemies crawling towards you. As with the bouncing bombs only a couple of these are needed to kill you. About half way through your encounter with her she will summon chieftains with solar shields. If you have a solar weapon you can easily take these out otherwise just throw everything you have at them because they are ranged attackers.
Araskes will likely not engage you much throughout the fight as she is not really a direct attacker. Instead she will simply trick you with exotic engrams that explode similar to the bouncing web mines but you can throw these at her or enemies to speed up the fight if you wish.
Don’t forget they have a timer though so be quick about getting rid of them. The Trickster boss has a scorn rifle to take pot shots at you from a distance and a slam if you decide to be brave with a sword or melee. Overall the arena is more what will likely kill you in this fight and Araskes will go down pretty quick from direct fire and precision shots.
Good luck out there Guardians!
Lore: “Whatever you do, don’t trust anything she touches. I promise you, it’ll bite.”
“Araskes, the Trickster, is a Baron of the Scorn. Little is known about her beyond legends of her own creation. As the spokesman and envoy of the Scorn, she is often the first to strike. Utilizing cloaking technology and leaving traps for unsuspecting enemies, Araskes has little skill in all-out battle beyond her ability to avoid it. She was captured alongside the other Scorn Barons and imprisoned within the Prison of Elders. A year after the events of the Red War she was freed by Uldren Sov and was witness to the murder of Cayde-6 at his hand. She established herself in Diaviks Mine afterward.”
